Our growing and vibrant church seeks a Family Ministries Coordinator to help take our ministry to the next level. The ideal candidate will be energetic, organized, innovative and, most importantly, Spirit-filled and have a love of God and a love of working with youth and children. The main responsibilities for this position include:**Recruiting, equipping, encouraging and coordinating lay ministers to work with children and youth (from infants to senior high students). This includes Sunday School on Sunday mornings and Youth Group which usually meets Sunday evenings.
**Working with lay ministers in selecting and/or developing educational curriculum
**Creating new weekday faith opportunities for children, youth, and families. We are in the process of expanding the Family Ministries Coordinator position and want to extend faith formation beyond Sunday morning. For example, we are currently using a new curriculum ("Way of the Child" by Upper Room Books) during Lent for children ages 6-11 on Wednesday and Friday afternoons.
**Working as an important member of our paid ministry team. We offer great flexibility, but also want the coordinator to meet weekly with our team so s/he can contribute towards the vision and direction of all our ministries.
**Communicating well with our faith community so that all our members and friends know what ministries are happening
Previous experience and a degree from an accredited college or university is desired. The position is salaried for 30 hours a week.
