First Baptist Gilmer is looking for a CHILDREN'S AND OUTREACH PASTOR who will provide and direct a comprehensive children's program K-6 designed to assist parents in connecting their children to the heart of Christ, and provide a direct and comprehensive ministry of evangelism and outreach to the Gilmer area and beyond. He/She will oversee all ministries related to children and outreach with the goal of assisting the ministry of First Baptist Gilmer in connecting the people to the heart of Christ through their upward, inward, outward and forward relationships. Professional requirements are: 1. B.A. or equivalent preferred 2. Reflects a lifestyle of evangelism and is a passionate teacher, mentor, and leader. 3. Experience in ministry with children and outreach. Specific Key Result Areas: 1. Communication/Coordination: communication of children's ministry /outreach issues or concerns to the pastor staff, children's committee, missions committee, volunteers and congregation. 2. Administration: Recruitment, promotion, scheduling and administration of children's education ministries (i.e. Sun. mornings, Wed. nights, etc.), special ministries (VBS, camps, special events, etc.), and outreach ministries. Evaluate curriculum and effectiveness of assigned ministries. Training/Equipping: Supervision, training and ongoing development of paid and volunteer ministry workers.
