River Community Church, Prairieville, LA is seeking a full-time Director of Worship. The primary focus of this position is worship leadership (two services on Sunday, midweek rehearsal, special services, and shepherding those involved in worship leadership). The person who fills this position will work closely with the Pastor in planning the worship services and overseeing the worship ministry of the church in its entirety. Additional foci of the position will depend upon the expertise of the new director and the needs of the congregation.
We are a young church of around 340 and presently employ guitars, drums, a violin, a mandolin, a keyboard, and wind instruments to raise the artistry and beauty of our praise and worship. Our Sunday worship services attempt to combine the richness of traditional lyrics with music that is contemporary and beautiful; thus applicants should be committed to a convergence of styles in worship.
Candidates should possess a mature Christian faith, a commitment to reformed and evangelical theology, excellent musical skills, demonstrable skills in relational leadership, and at least 3 years experience in leading worship.
