Do you have a passion for leading congregational music in a traditional Christian setting? Christ the King Lutheran Church, a church family of about 150 members located in the Eastgate area of Bellevue Washington, is seeking an experienced organist to lead the musical portion of our traditional Sunday morning worship service and at additional seasonal services throughout the church year. The organist rehearses with and accompanies our choir and other musicians and vocalists on the organ/piano. Choir practices are held once a week from fall through early summer. The organist also attends and engages in long-range quarterly Worship Team planning meetings , working with and reporting to the Pastor. Compensation is based on a fee per service plus a monthly salary based on five hours per week for rehearsals and related administrative duties. Knowledge of the liturgy and musical traditions of the Lutheran Church and a degree in music or comparable organ training/experience required, plus a positive, encouraging communication style. Do you have experience in choral direction? Combining the Organist position with that of Choir Director will also be considered.
